Abstract:

A new species of Ceratocephale is described on the basis of 155 specimens collected from the western coast of Baja California Sur, Mexico at 55-220 m. This new species C. papillata differs by the presence of a middorsal papillae, previously known in C. hartmanae, and sometimes in C. andaman; from C. hartmanae the new species differ in the presence of eyes, and in the start of the double neuropodial cirri; from C. andaman the new species differ by the start and development of the middorsal papillae, furthermore by the presence of sesquigomph spinigers. A key of all Ceratocephale species is given.
