Perkinsiana antarctica
Total length 21 to 28 mm of which 9 mm is the branchial crown; maximum body width 3 mm. Number of thoracic chaetigers from 7 to 8, and 37 abdominal chaetigers. Thoracic chaetigers wider than longer. Radioles with brown spots and very short tips, radiolar skeleton angular in cross section. Collar oblique, laterally covering the base of the crown, and with high ventral rounded lappets. Dorsal lips with radiolar appendages as long as 4 thoracic chaetigers, and with a short pinnular appendage. Thoracic tori indenting the ventral shields, with 40 uncini. Thoracic fascicles other than first pair with 8-10 superior limbate and 18-20 inferior paleate chaetae. Abdominal chaetae geniculate and broadly hooded. Tube translucent, horny, encrusted with fine sand.
