SUMMARY
Prostomium with antennae and palps; palps simple. Prostomium with pronounced anterior projection between antennae; lacking eyespots, or with one pair of eyespots (indistinct, near posterior margin of prostomium); Eyespots absent from anterior chaetigers. Pharynx with bifid terminal papillae present; 20 papillae (plus two additional simple papillae, in mid-dorsal and mid-ventral positions). Subterminal papillae present; Enlarged median subdistal dorsal papilla absent. Pharynx with 22 rows of subdistal papillae; each row made up of 5–7 papillae. Verrucae present; throughout entire basal region of pharynx (despite Rainer & Hutchings' 1977 description). Dorsal cirri present from chaetiger 1; short and digitate on chaetiger 1; larger, digitate and expanded basally on subsequent chaetigers. Dorsal interramal cirri present, from chaetiger 3, cirriform, roughly circular in cross-section, curve outward initially. Dorsal interramal cirrus with basal digitiform process; chaetigers 10–30 (at least). Ventral interramal cirri absent. Specialised dentate chaetae absent from notopodium of chaetiger 1. Barred chaetae present in preacicular fascicles. Lyrate chaetae absent. Spinose post-acicular chaetae present. Spinulose post-acicular chaetae present. Capillary chaetae absent. Chaetae long and flowing.
